Temple Beth Jacob Sisterhood is a diverse, inclusive group who draw strength from each other in our efforts to support the temple community.  Building on our Jewish values, we enrich our congregation through social events, programs, and projects that promote Jewish life and culture, and personal growth.

Each year the women of Sisterhood create and lead a Shabbat evening service, sponsor the Kiddush after Rosh Hashanah (Day 1) and the Yom Kippur break fast. Other events on the calendar for 2017/2018 include a Jewish genealogy seminar, tallit-making, dinner and a Jewish movie and a trip to the Yiddish book center. We encourage Sisterhood members with an area of expertise or interest are encouraged to share these passions with each other. Whether it be book club, knitting, baking together or learning about each other's familial history, our friendships grow through sharing experiences,

Sisterhood provides a strong support network for temple families and reaches out to those in the congregation in need of a helping hand. The majority of the funds that Sisterhood raises are given to students as scholarships for Jewish related experiences or are contributed to various community organizations. Sisterhood also recognizes B’nei Mitzvah on their achievements.

All women of TBJ are welcome to join Sisterhood by signing up and including the nominal dues when they return their TBJ Membership Renewal Form in the fall or by contacting the Sisterhood President at any time throughout the year.
