MASK-MANDATED SHABBAT SERVICES

In response to our recent survey – and more importantly, so more of our congregation can attend services – the Religious Practices Committee has scheduled three Shabbat services during which the wearing of masks (by everyone, including the service leaders) will be required. "Onegs to go" will be available as you leave the sanctuary.

Despite the federal government’s decision to essentially declare COVID to be “over,” many in our community live otherwise. Some have long-COVID, and cannot risk any additional illness. Others seek to protect elderly and/or immune compromised loved ones. Still others are immunosuppressed or immune-compromised, and know that getting COVID could be a life-threatening event. Many of these people have not been comfortable returning to TBJ under our mask-optional policy.

The mask-mandated services will be Friday nights February 17, March 10, and April 21. We will post a sign on the outside of the front door noting that the wearing of a mask will be required at all times that evening. Please note that the mask must be worn over both the nose and mouth. We hope that everyone will feel comfortable attending services these nights.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Religious Practices Chair Sharon Burgess (slburgess2@comcast.net) or Rabbi Robin (rabbi@tbjconcord.org).
