As the world of libraries is small (and I'm on the NH Library Association Intellectual Freedom Committee), I have been made aware of a high school library undergoing an unofficial book challenge for the title Gender Queer. As the challenge is unofficial, they are still allowed to have the title, however they have been prevented from re-ordering it. Due to the unofficial nature, there is no public process and the library needs to remain anonymous. The library is seeking support in the form of anonymous donations of the title (not a large quantity) before the start of the school year. I am coordinating this effort. If you can help provide teens with a valuable book about discovering and coming to terms with your gender identity, please help!
