Sisterhood
Sisterhood
TBJ Sisterhood is a group of women who enjoy getting together in support of the entire TBJ community. Sisterhood sponsors weekly Religious School bagel sales and the Judaica gift shop, and often hosts an Oneg Shabbat. Throughout the year, Sisterhood members – and sometimes their partners – get together for a variety of social events, such as Dinner and a Show. Recently Sisterhood members discovered their inner artist when they studied the Hebrw letters through calligraphy. Each year the women of Sisterhood create and lead a Shabbat evening service. Sisterhood also sponsors many temple functions, including the Kiddush after Rosh Hashanah (Day 1) and the Yom Kippur break fast. Sisterhood provides a strong support network for temple families and reaches out to those in the congregation in need of a helping hand. Much of the funds Sisterhood raises are given to students as scholarships for Jewish related experiences or are contributed to various community organizations. Sisterhood also recognizes B’nei Mitzvah on their achievements. All women of TBJ are welcome to join Sisterhood by signing up and if able including the suggested dues when they submit their TBJ Membership Renewal Form in the fall. But at any time throughout the year Sisterhood is happy to welcome new or continuing temple members. Meetings are on the first Sunday of the month*, 11 am at Temple Beth Jacob For more information, contact |
