TBJ Purimshpiel 2024 - The Megillah According To Hamilton. Join in the fun!
The first "read and sing through" of The Megillah According To Hamilton: The Shul Where It Happens will be Thursday evening, December 21, from 7-9PM at TBJ. This is completely "elective," but I would appreciate hearing from you if you anticipate cast participation but can't be there, so I set aside a script for you.
The 2024 TBJ Purimshpiel is about to begin rehearsals, as we look forward to presenting our 27th annual production on April 6 and 7, 2024. The original script, with fantastic and creative lyrics written by Cantor Shira, will unleash the breakthrough styles of Lin-Manuel Miranda on Broadway, with a megillah based on the music of the hit show, Hamilton. It's "revolutionary"!
We'd love to help you unleash your inner Broadway diva. Maybe you want to be the next star of the Broadway (Concord) stage? Or if getting booed stirs your pot consider channeling Bigthan and Teresh or even Haman and Zeresh? There's also plenty of room in the choruses and ensembles, and the Hamilton-style "rap" (think "talking in rhythm") reaffirms the TBJ Purimshpiel promise that singing ability is NOT a necessity for our wonderful cast!
Please join in the fun and don't pass up your "Shot"! Rehearsals are efficiently scheduled on Sunday and Thursday evenings (and missing rehearsals is always OK). A good sense of humor and willingness to support your fellow cast members and musicians is the only audition requirement.
Please email Gary Sobelson, Purimshpiel Director, and join the fun. GSobelson@comcast.net
