SHIREINU is starting up!!

What is it, you ask?

It's an opportunity to do several things:

• Sing with a group of friends
• Learn new repertoire
• Become more conversant with the music for Shabbat services
• Gain new skills and confidence with guitar, piano, or an instrument of your choice when playing Jewish music
• Learn songleading skills

What does it look like?

• We will meet on Sunday mornings throughout the summer from 9:30-10:30.
• BYOI - Bring Your Own Instrument (If your instrument is piano, we only have one, so bring a keyboard if it turns out there are several of you!).
• We will be playing through Shireinu (available digitally or in hardcopy from transcontinentalmusic.com) and the Ruach songbooks.
• We will get through 2-3 songs per time we meet. I'll teach a song, we will go through any hard chords that people may not know (for the guitar players), and we will play through the song 2-3 times as a group before moving on to the next song.
• As we grow and evolve with confidence and skill, different members of the group will have the opportunity to take the lead, learning and growing with each other.
• I am VERY willing to open this up to Zoom for people not comfortable coming in person who would still like to join in from their own homes. Please let me know if that is how you would like to join in and I will make it happen.
