Adult Education 2021-2022

30 Minutes on Thursdays: Rabbi Robin invites you to join a weekly 30-minute spiritual discussion based on a different text each week. Some weeks we will meet 8:30 am; other weeks we will meet at noon. The time and the link will be in the weekly email of events sent from the Temple office. Feel free to email Rabbi Robin at rabbi@tbjconcord.org with any suggested texts (poems or prose around a paragraph long).

Man’s Search for Meaning: Man’s Search for Meaning is a 1946 book by Viktor Frankl chronicling his experiences as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps during World War II, and describing his psychotherapeutic method, which involved identifying a purpose in life to feel positive about, and then imagining that outcome. We discuss the book on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am when religious school is in session and Rabbi Robin is not teaching Family Education. Dates are October 17; November 7 and 14; December 5; January 9, 16, and 30; February 6, March 13 and 27; April 10 and 17. You may participate in person or via Zoom. The Zoom link will be in the weekly email of events sent from the Temple office.

The two texts are Lieberman & Person, eds., Honoring Tradition, Embracing Modernity: A Reader for the Union for Reform Judaism’s Introduction to Judaism Course (CCAR Press) and an English translation (or English/Hebrew) of a Jewish Bible. The Zoom link will be in the weekly email of events sent from the Temple office.
